About the position

The Senior Government Accounting Manager at GE Aerospace is responsible for developing compliant Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs) and annual Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS) for the Defense & Systems organization. This role involves partnering with leadership to ensure compliant operating practices and policies, enabling maximum recovery of costs on US Government contracts. The position requires strong financial data analysis skills and encompasses the full rate lifecycle, including rate generation, government financial reporting, audit support, and variance analysis. The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with various stakeholders, including government regulators.

Responsibilities

• Provide actionable analysis, insights, and recommendations for compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FAR, DFARS, and other regulations.
• Analyze financial information to ensure costs are aligned to appropriate cost pools for FPRP and ICS submissions.
• Monitor requirements for FPRP and ICS adequacy and implement necessary process changes.
• Manage process and documentation supporting the development and audit of rates.
• Establish effective relationships with cost and functional owners for timely support of submissions.
• Support internal, DCMA, and DCAA audits, fostering strong auditor relationships.
• Work in a fast-changing environment on high visibility projects.
• Apply lean concepts to streamline processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 4+ years operating cost analytics experience.
• 3+ years cost accounting experience.
• Significant experience in Finance, Government Accounting, and applicable regulations (CAS, FAR, DFARS, DCAA Contract Audit Manual).
