About the position

The Senior Graphic Designer at TrueCar will play a crucial role in the Creative Department, which functions as an in-house agency. This position is designed for a meticulous designer who is passionate about clarity and simplicity in design, with a strong emphasis on conceptual storytelling. The designer will collaborate with a talented team to create a wide range of visual content for both digital and print media, contributing to the overall mission of making car buying and selling easy and transparent.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and layouts for various digital and print media.
  • Interpret Creative Briefs and collaborate with team members to determine objectives, style, and approaches necessary to complete creative projects.
  • Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Craft and deliver insightful presentations and present work to key stakeholders regularly.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Support and elevate junior graphic designers through guidance, mentoring, and feedback.
  • Present ideas with passion and be open to design critique.
  • Focus on the big picture of creative workflow, processes, and efficiency, and help develop design standards and best practices.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming and help maintain a creative and fun design team culture.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design and digital media.

Requirements

  • Extensive design experience, preferably in agency or startup environments, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptualize creatively, and work independently to see the concept through from start to finish with flawless execution.
  • Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Proficient in using Figma and well-versed in Powerpoint and Keynote.
  • Strong understanding of design composition and layout, including digital experience in banner design, web, email design, and social media design.
  • Understand UX design and have the ability to discuss and design responsively and mobile-first.

Nice-to-haves

  • Animation and editing skills are a plus.
  • Art School diploma is a plus.
