About the position

The Senior Graphic Designer at Lee Enterprises Inc. is a pivotal role within the Amplified Digital team, responsible for leading design efforts across various healthcare-related projects. This position emphasizes brand consistency and high-quality visuals while engaging directly with clients to pitch ideas and brainstorm new concepts. The designer will manage a junior graphic designer and collaborate closely with the Marketing Director to contribute to strategic marketing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire design process from concept to execution for all projects, including digital, print, and multimedia materials tailored to the healthcare industry.
• Ensure all design work aligns with brand guidelines and effectively communicates the organization's message and values.
• Manage multiple design projects from concept through completion, handling multiple rounds of revisions while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
• Exhibit a 'Can-do' attitude while working with the Marketing Director, marketing team, and clients to create cohesive and impactful marketing campaigns.
• Provide guidance and support to the Graphic Designer, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Stay current with design trends, particularly in healthcare, and incorporate best practices into your work.
• Present design concepts and strategies to both internal and external stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and enhance final outputs.
• Handle administrative tasks such as QR code creation, managing Trello board tickets, attending team meetings, preparing weekly agendas and notes, updating reports and client presentations, and creating social and event graphics.
• Utilize industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create high-quality graphics and layouts.
• Review all design materials for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory standards relevant to the healthcare industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience, with healthcare and marketing experience being a plus.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
• Proficiency in video and animation.
• Experience in cartoon/caricature design.
• Strong understanding of healthcare marketing principles and regulations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor junior designers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• A strong portfolio showcasing design work, including video.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI in design processes.
