About the position

SHE Media is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to enhance its New York-based editorial team. This role focuses on creating engaging visual elements tailored for women and moms over 30, ensuring that the visual aesthetic aligns with the SheKnows and Flow Space brands. The designer will collaborate closely with the Editors-in-Chief to oversee the creative direction of digital issues and branded content campaigns, while managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design & general aesthetic of the SheKnows and Flow Space brands & ensure all images/graphic elements are in compliance.
• Oversee the design & general aesthetic of all SheKnows and Flow Space branded content campaigns, working with SHE Media designers to ensure alignment with editorial.
• Create designed Feature Images for all SheKnows and Flow Space feature stories.
• Work with EICs to design digital issues and destinations, maintaining brand aesthetics using programs like Ceros.
• Spearhead the creative direction, organization, and production of photo shoots, in assistance with Editors-in-Chief and business manager.
• Develop and maintain a roster of contributors, including photographers, glam teams, styling teams, illustrators, graphic designers, and more.
• Work with SheKnows and Flow Space social media editors to create a cohesive, branded look on all platforms for both sites.
• Create title cards and general design elements for videos, and work with editorial teams to set the overall aesthetic of videos for both brands.
• Design tentpole banners and newsletter/email blasts with light HTML inputs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience at a major digital media company.
• A deep understanding of the women's lifestyle space.
• A strong eye for visuals.
• A generalist sensibility and proven experience producing quality content across a variety of subjects.
• A proven ability to perform under high-pressure conditions.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Suite programs, primarily Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator.
