About the position

The Sr Graphic Designer at GEHA is responsible for ideating and creating materials that support the organization's growth goals, including subscriber acquisition and retention. This role involves collaborating with the creative team and other stakeholders to translate business objectives into effective creative solutions across various media, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and best practices in direct response marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute direction and create effective designs for creative materials based on business goals and audience behaviors.
  • Incorporate best practices in Health Payer or Healthcare Insurance advertising while working under minimal supervision.
  • Influence the creative team process and utilize brand guidelines within project management software.
  • Lead and support other creatives in developing print, digital, direct mail, and other forms of creative materials.
  • Communicate rationale behind design choices and review creative work to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Strategy, and other stakeholders to ensure creative materials align with go-to-market strategy.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with agencies and vendors to ensure cohesive creative for brand and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design preferred; additional years of experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 6+ years of direct work experience as a Sr. Designer or Art Director, with Health Payer or Healthcare Insurance experience required.
  • Robust design portfolio showcasing print and digital work experience, focusing on campaign execution.
  • Strong grasp of direct marketing practices, including experience with variable fields in direct mail.
  • Extensive skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Understanding of brand guidelines application in creative materials.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of designing materials that adhere to accessibility standards.
  • Ability to partner with other designers, copywriters, and business owners to create solutions.
  • Initiative-taker with exemplary planning and time management skills.
