About the position

The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for creating and implementing design solutions that align with the marketing and communications strategies of the department. This role involves managing visual branding campaigns, ensuring compliance with branding standards, and directing the work of other designers. The designer will utilize various software applications to produce both print and digital products, contributing to the overall visual identity of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and implement design solutions that support departmental marketing and communications strategies.
• Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with visual branding standards.
• Manage the development of visual branding campaigns, directing and approving the work of other designers.
• Utilize current illustration, page layout, separation, imposition, and preflight software applications to develop print and digital products.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or a closely related field from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
• Three years of full-time paid graphic arts experience is required.
• Proficiency with current graphic design software programs is required, particularly Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Experience working with digital platforms such as web design or social and mobile design is preferred.
• Ability to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
• Experience with brand development is preferred.
• A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a trainer within government and/or the utility industry is preferred.
