About the position

The Senior Graphic & Motion Designer at Omaha Steaks International, Inc. plays a pivotal role in the creative direction team, responsible for delivering exceptional graphic design across various media and creating compelling motion graphics and videos. This position requires a collaborative spirit, as the designer will work closely with other creative team members to develop innovative ideas that push the boundaries of visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of design principles, and the technical skills necessary to produce high-quality visual content. They will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of projects and ensuring consistency and excellence in all design outputs. In this role, the designer will participate in brainstorming sessions aimed at generating new ideas for innovation, brand storytelling, and creativity. They will create graphics and artwork that enhance the visual effects and style of presentations, effectively conveying the project's message. The designer will utilize Adobe Creative Suite tools to design and animate motion graphics, edit videos, and execute final production for digital output. Collaboration with video, creative, and marketing teams will be essential for planning, scripting, and production, ensuring that every video meets brand standards and production value requirements. Additionally, the Senior Graphic & Motion Designer will mentor junior graphic designers and production artists, providing guidance on projects and encouraging opportunities for expanding design knowledge. They will lead high-level design campaigns, ensuring that the design vision and branding remain intact from conception to delivery. Regular communication with managers in the Advertising and Marketing Departments will be necessary to keep them updated on the progress of current creative projects. The designer will also maintain best practices for organizing project files and stay current with the latest graphic design and video editing techniques, as well as social media advertising and AI tools. A positive attitude and the ability to cooperate and communicate effectively with coworkers are essential for fostering a productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in collaboration designed to generate new ideas through discussion, including new possibilities for innovation, brand storytelling, and creativity.
  • Creates graphics and artwork to enhance the visual effects and style of presentation and convey the project's message effectively.
  • Uses Adobe Creative Suite tools to design and animate motion graphics and edit videos, executing final production for digital output.
  • Collaborates with video, creative, and marketing teams on planning, scripting, and production.
  • Concepts and executes creative outlines, storyboards, and animatics as needed for internal and consumer-facing videos.
  • Ensures every video meets brand standards and production value requirements.
  • Mentors graphic designers and production artists, providing guidance on projects and encouraging opportunities to expand design knowledge.
  • Leads high-level design campaigns that are on-brand and helps see them through from conception to delivery, ensuring design vision and branding is intact.
  • Conducts meetings, guides creative, and follows up on project status.
  • Communicates directly with managers in the Advertising and Marketing Departments to keep them updated on the progress of current Creative projects.
  • Maintains and follows best practices for organization of project files.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge about the latest graphic design and video editing techniques, as well as social media advertising and AI tools.
  • Demonstrates a consistent positive attitude to support a productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer or Motion Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing graphic design and motion graphics work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience in mentoring or guiding junior designers is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in graphic design, video editing, and social media advertising.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with 3D design software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for design and video editing.
  • Knowledge of branding and marketing principles.
