About the position

The Senior Ground Segment Systems Engineer will support the US Space Force in the development, deployment, and maintenance of a National Security Space system. This role involves overseeing various systems engineering activities, managing technical requirements, and ensuring the integration of software and systems solutions within the Space Systems Command program office.

Responsibilities

• Support and oversee systems architecting and engineering activities including requirements definition, design, and interface management.
• Develop, assess, and manage ground segment technical and interface requirements.
• Manage interface negotiation with external stakeholders and oversee verification processes.
• Oversee and manage software product backlog to meet baseline and emerging requirements.
• Ensure the conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Support the development of system engineering items such as CONOPs, requirements definitions, and system testing.
• Assist in the development and refinement of acquisition strategies and provide recommendations for program execution issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant discipline and 14 years of experience (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
• Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Programs.
• Experience with technical program management, systems engineering, and government acquisitions of integrated Space and Ground Systems.
• Experience with Software Systems Engineering, Design, and Architecture Development, Agile Software Development Techniques, and CI/CD Pipelines.
