About the position

The Senior Ground Systems Engineer Level 3 at BryceTech is responsible for providing expert technical and programmatic support to the US Space Force's Space Systems Command. This role involves advising on space acquisitions, engineering, and operations throughout the acquisition life cycle, ensuring the development and sustainment of critical space systems. The engineer will work closely with government program managers to enhance program performance and mitigate risks associated with space domain awareness and combat power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice and assistance for all projects and programs.
  • Revise or provide draft JCIDS and acquisition documentation to the applicable Government program manager.
  • Provide a draft SME-level technical and/or programmatic status report of any individual program or of the portfolio.
  • Identify areas of improvement, including acquisition process improvements, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, and report requirement shortfalls.
  • Advise the Government program manager on technical engagements, including design reviews and program conferences.
  • Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection and operations.
  • Provide engineering and technical expertise to support ongoing and new/advanced Command and Control (C2) efforts.
  • Provide cyber security support in accordance with DoDI 8500.01 and facilitate cyber security working groups.
  • Maintain awareness and manage any program Authority to Operate, Authority to Test, and Authority to Connect.

Requirements

  • Expert in ACAT-like classified space control ground and C2 systems.
  • Expert in developing & documenting ACAT-like program ground architectures including DoDAF architecture views.
  • Highly knowledgeable in the fields of DoD Information Assurance design, testing, certification, and accreditation.
  • Over 10 years of relative experience in space systems engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cyber security issues and recommendations in a space systems context.
  • Familiarity with the latest applicable Government guidance (e.g., MIL-STD).
