The analyst supports the business by offering expert guidance and advice on various risk-related matters within their area of specialization. In this capacity, the Senior Group Risk Analyst utilizes their expertise to exercise sound and independent professional judgment while interacting with staff and senior management regarding regulatory risks and other critical matters. They are empowered to make prudent recommendations that impact business performance and overall enterprise strategies. The analyst integrates broader organizational contexts into their advice and solutions, ensuring that they understand industry dynamics, competition, and differentiating factors for the organization. As the primary subject matter expert, the Senior Group Risk Analyst is expected to make informed decisions and set standards within their area of expertise. They apply expert knowledge and best practices to implement process, product, or service improvements, overseeing tasks from end to end. This role involves leading moderately complex projects and executing solutions for complex problems that require analysis of multiple variables and consultation with various stakeholders. The analyst also provides advanced analysis and specialized reporting to support business partners and functional areas, building stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis to support operational risk management initiatives.
  • Monitor and conduct testing with oversight of the first line of defense.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice on risk-related matters within assigned areas.
  • Utilize expertise to exercise independent professional judgment in communications with staff and senior management.
  • Make prudent recommendations that impact business performance and enterprise strategies.
  • Integrate broader organizational context into advice and solutions within functional areas.
  • Lead projects of moderate to complex risk and resource requirements.
  • Execute on complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables and stakeholder consultation.
  • Develop and operationalize standards, policies, and processes to identify and mitigate risk exposures.
  • Support ongoing risk measurement activities by analyzing and reporting operational loss data.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical professional certification and/or 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of risk management programs, policies, practices, and reporting.
  • Understanding and experience with various programming tools.
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities.
  • Advanced skill in using analytical software tools and data analysis methods.
  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
