About the position

The Senior Manager, Growth Segment Marketing at Calix is responsible for developing and executing the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy for targeted growth segments in the broadband service provider industry. This role focuses on creating effective marketing campaigns, driving sales success, and enhancing customer experiences for broadband service providers, including MSO/Cable Operators and competitive Overbuilders/Fiber ISPs. The position requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, including market positioning, sales enablement, demand generation, and content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop market positioning and messaging that highlights Calix's differentiated value.
  • Communicate the segment marketing message and positioning to the sales team and develop segment content to support the selling process.
  • Be the expert on buyers, their buying criteria, and competition in the broadband/telecom space.
  • Develop the strategy and manage marketing programs that drive demand for the market segment in collaboration with the Demand Generation team.
  • Represent the segment within Calix and to the market, including partners and industry associations.
  • Evangelize the Calix solution and its benefits at events and through digital marketing.
  • Develop customized content and present at customer meetings and industry events.
  • Author original digital and social media content including blogs, social posts, web collateral, solution briefs, and white papers.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of industry experience in the broadband/telecom space.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience targeting broadband service providers, with at least 5+ years in a field-facing role.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with excellent written communication abilities including technical marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or marketing.
  • Willingness to travel 25% within the US.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, partners, and customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in access broadband and managed Wi-Fi spaces.
  • Experience working with or marketing to cable operators and Overbuilders.
