About the position

The GTM Specialist Solutions Architect role within the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) at AWS focuses on helping customers leverage AWS for their Microsoft workloads. This position involves designing strategic migration plans, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful cloud adoption and optimization. The role emphasizes customer engagement, thought leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively about AWS services and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strategic migration plans for Microsoft workloads to AWS, ensuring alignment with client objectives and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, as well as defining implementation architectures.
  • Provide thought leadership in the adoption of .NET applications in the cloud, offering guidance on best practices, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions that leverage AWS services to meet the unique needs of the Enterprise and Digital Native Business US customers.
  • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to educate clients and internal teams on Microsoft migrations and cloud optimization strategies.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing and Microsoft ecosystems to inform strategic decisions and innovation efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
  • 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
  • 5+ years of Microsoft technical experience

Nice-to-haves

  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Computer Science/relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.
