In this role, you will own strategy and drive execution across a portfolio of projects, ranging from network switches to machine learning pods. You will interface with stakeholders from data center operations, manufacturing, and supply chain to crystallize Design for Operations requirements. This position requires you to influence new platform architectures through technical insights and trade-off analyses with stakeholders from the Hardware Design and Software Architecture teams. Additionally, you will help mentor an experienced team within operations for in-house competence in platforms architecture, both hardware and software. Your responsibilities will include developing the strategic roadmap with stakeholders from data center operations, supply chain, and manufacturing to capture the design for operations requirements. You will identify critical user journeys that capture operational requirements such as serviceability, automation, safety, repair cost, and deployment time. Integrating design for operations into the architecture of platforms hardware and software will be a key focus, as well as investigating alternative architectures and roadmaps to enable an optimized system design. You will engage in the development of the system architecture, including design intent, functional trade-offs, and deployment risks. Furthermore, aligning organizational boundaries within the Engineering, Network, Power, Compliance, Safety, Supply Chain, and Data Center Operations teams to leverage shared goals and resources will be essential to your success in this role.
