About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Raytheon focuses on the design, development, and integration of Radar Receiver, Exciter, and Transmitter subsystems. The role requires a strong academic background in digital/analog hardware and subsystem design, with responsibilities including circuit architecture, modeling, simulation, and verification. The successful candidate will collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality hardware that meets program requirements, while also providing technical support during production transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Circuit and sub-system architecture, design, modeling, simulation, and verification.
  • Integration and test at component, CCA, and subsystem levels.
  • Transition to production and technical support to manufacturing and test engineers.
  • Manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of prior work experience.
  • Experience in digital design and/or test.
  • Hands-on experience with design simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, LTSpice) and analytical tools (e.g., Matlab).
  • Hands-on experience with design development tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics' Xpedition schematic capture and layout).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience interfacing and testing with Digital to Analog Converters (D/A) and Analog to Digital Converters (A/D).
  • Experience with various digital high-speed interfaces such as JESD204B, Memory (DDR3, DDR4), SERDES, 10G+ Ethernet, Fiber Channel.
  • Background in FPGA hardware inference designs including SERDES, LVDS chip-to-chip and board-to-board.
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzer (PNA), and spectrum analyzer.
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations.
