About the position

As a Senior Hardware Design Validation & Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Infotainment Test & Validation team, ensuring that our designs meet the highest standards of quality and functionality. This position requires a proactive and determined individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to excellence in their work. You will be responsible for developing test plans, executing component-level tests, and automating test software to validate our innovative hardware designs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with hardware design engineers to create and execute comprehensive hardware verification test plans that encompass environmental, electrical, and mechanical testing. You will also work alongside the software development team to define and implement validation software and test automation processes. Your hands-on programming skills in Python, C/C++, and LabVIEW will be essential as you design, build, and program test systems for hardware testing. Additionally, you will analyze test results and data to ensure that our designs meet functional and performance specifications, contributing to the continuous improvement of our products. As a key member of the team, you will be expected to upload test setups, plans, and results into Confluence and JIRA, creating detailed test sequences to verify the performance and limitations of electronic control units (ECUs). Your ability to collaborate with the design team to resolve issues and develop corrective actions will be vital in maintaining our commitment to quality and innovation. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute hardware verification test plans in collaboration with HW Design Engineers.
  • Define and implement validation software and test automation with the SW Development team.
  • Perform hands-on programming using Python, C/C++, and LabVIEW.
  • Conduct board-level functional testing and understand HW design and schematics.
  • Design, build, and program test systems for HW testing and generate automated reports tracking test results.
  • Upload test setups, test plans, and results into Confluence and JIRA.
  • Create test sequences to verify performance and limitations of ECUs.
  • Collaborate with the design team to resolve problems and develop corrective actions.
  • Analyze test results and data to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Research advanced measurement techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or a related technical major.
  • At least 5 years of experience in hardware testing, preferably in the automotive sector.
  • Hands-on programming experience in Python, C/C++, and LabVIEW.
  • Experience in developing and executing hardware verification test plans.
  • Ability to conduct board-level functional testing and understand hardware design and schematics.
  • Experience in designing and programming test systems for hardware testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in testing Digital and Analog/Mixed signal circuits.
  • Familiarity with LV124 automotive test standards and execution.
  • Experience using measurement and test instruments such as RTStand LV124, spectrum analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and arbitrary waveform generators.
  • Experience with embedded systems using Linux.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Gigabit Ethernet, FPD link, CAN, SPI, I2C, LIN, RS232.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing.
