About the position

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that the cloud remains operational and efficient. This role involves owning the design and operations of a new segment of servers, collaborating with various teams to address complex issues, and driving improvements in server design and performance. The position requires a strong focus on customer needs and operational challenges, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality service and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the design, development, and root cause analysis of a new segment of specialized servers.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to understand project requirements and facilitate system development.
  • Monitor the quality of the server fleet and ensure it meets customer requirements post-launch.
  • Work with vendors and ODM/JDM design teams to develop and manufacture products at scale.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with complex server, storage, or network server designs.
  • 3+ years of advanced support experience managing customer escalations in a large-scale production environment.
  • 3+ years of development experience in hardware/firmware, with proven ability to debug PCIe, memory, or storage subsystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage technology developers and apply emerging technologies to server designs.
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and operational repair plans.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to improve products based on customer feedback.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters/PhD Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in hardware and firmware integration issues.
  • Deep technical background with Memory, Storage, and PCIe debugging.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and alerting systems in production environments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through investigations and corrective actions on integrated system problems.
