The Senior Engineer, Electrical at Badger Meter plays a crucial role in supporting the company's growth and alignment across various product families. This position focuses on the hardware-specific aspects of electrical and electronic product development, as well as product performance testing. The Senior Engineer will be involved in new product development projects and will also maintain existing products within the production environment, gaining valuable product knowledge along the way. In this role, the Senior Engineer will act as the project technical lead, responsible for completing the design of the hardware PCB/component circuit portion of projects and providing ongoing support for component issues. They will conduct product and prototype design verification tests to ensure compliance with applicable standards such as UL/CSA, CE/EMC, and FM, as well as product specifications. The engineer will finalize production implementations, including test methodologies and the specification/creation of production validation fixtures and procedures. Additionally, they will be responsible for completing release documentation for the final hardware portions of products, creating product work instructions and process documents, and initiating and implementing engineering change requests. The Senior Engineer will also provide advanced product hardware support for sustaining engineering activities across various departments and participate in multi-disciplinary project teams to define project schedules, budgets, and risks. Mentoring junior engineers will also be a key responsibility of this role.
