About the position

Raytheon is seeking a Systems Hardware Engineer to support satellite communication (SATCOM) activities and company-wide systems engineering. This role is part of a 24/7 Operations environment, requiring availability for non-scheduled call-ins and a rotating day/night shift schedule. The engineer will engage in problem resolution, training, data collection, and real-time actions to restore system capabilities, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform discrepancy report work and problem resolution.
• Conduct O&M training and mentoring.
• Analyze trends and develop procedures.
• Collect data and isolate faults in systems.
• Perform real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities.
• Document and report anomalous performance.
• Cross-train in other operational positions and assist in training personnel.
• Support test activities and operational requirements as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent.
• Experience with RF communication antennas and associated hardware systems.
• Familiarity with high-speed networks, IT systems, and real-time software applications for communication systems.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with existing custom subsystems and current qualifications.
• Knowledge of facility support systems for RF ground terminal systems (power, HVAC, etc.).
• Military electronics and/or satellite communications training/experience.
• Security+ certification or higher.
