The Senior Hardware Engineer Program Manager will play a pivotal role in the Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team, which is responsible for expanding cloud infrastructure and powering the "Intelligent Cloud" mission. This team delivers core infrastructure and foundational technologies for over 200 online businesses, including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Azure platform globally. The focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, high-energy engineer who can help achieve this mission by managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure. As the cloud business continues to grow, the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume, with high quality, and at lower costs is paramount. The Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamental Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to cloud hardware. The Senior Hardware Engineer Program Manager will be responsible for envisioning and implementing future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the cloud infrastructure, ensuring that the organization meets its business goals effectively. The role requires a strong background in engineering, product/technical program management, and product development, with a focus on cross-functional project management. The successful candidate will lead a virtual team of functional leads from hardware and software engineering, sourcing, supply chain, networking, and data center operations to document a clear Plan-of-Record (POR) for new product development and lead the project team to meet stated milestones. This position demands excellent technical design, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of business stakeholders to achieve results and impact.
