About the position

The Senior Hardware Engineer will be a key technical contributor to the DC Hardware Development team at Teradyne, focusing on the design, implementation, and production of high power and precision ATE instrumentation. This role involves tackling complex design challenges in various areas such as power amplifiers, high-speed digital systems, and high-performance data converters, while ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness in the designs.

Responsibilities

• Design complex circuits with analog, digital, and power components.
• Participate in technical teams to efficiently progress through analysis, simulation, prototyping, verification, and product release.
• Interface productively with cross-functional teams across various engineering disciplines and external departments.
• Articulate design trade-offs to navigate complex design challenges.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers.
• Communicate effectively at all levels of abstraction, from detailed circuit analysis to high-level product design discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven track record of completing multiple product design cycles from concept to high volume production.
• BSEE or MSEE or equivalent experience.
• High proficiency in designing complex circuits with analog, digital, and power components.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with new product development involving complex designs and PCBs.
• Knowledge of low noise switching power supply design.
• Familiarity with high-speed signal integrity and power integrity.
• Experience with high-speed protocols (PCIe), DDRx memory, and clocking.
• Proficiency in circuit simulation and control loop theory.
• Understanding of the ATE industry and high-performance instrumentation design.
