About the position

The Senior Hardware Engineer will be a key technical contributor to the DC Hardware Development team at Teradyne, focusing on the design and implementation of high power and precision ATE instrumentation. This role involves driving the concept, design, and customer adoption of new ATE instruments, including power supplies and high-speed digital components for various markets such as semiconductor PMIC, mobile applications, and automotive. The position requires addressing complex design challenges and ensuring the successful release of products to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ATE instrumentation from concept to production.
  • Prototype, simulate, and verify designs, including schematic and layout work.
  • Document design processes and release products to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across various engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers in design practices and methodologies.
  • Articulate design trade-offs and navigate complex design challenges.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in hardware engineering.
  • Proven track record of completing multiple product design cycles from concept to high volume production.
  • BSEE or MSEE or equivalent experience.
  • High proficiency in designing complex circuits with analog, digital, and power components.
  • Experience with new product development involving complex designs and PCBs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with low noise switching power supply design.
  • Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and power integrity.
  • Familiarity with high-speed protocols such as PCIe and DDRx memory.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation and control loop theory.
  • Understanding of the ATE industry and high-performance instrumentation design.
