The Senior Wireless RF Regulatory Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with wireless communication regulations and standards as the complexity of radiofrequency governmental regulations continues to increase globally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge wireless technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market while ensuring compliance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other global regulations. The engineer will be responsible for comprehending and interpreting global RF regulations and partnering with design teams to ensure compliance through design and testing outcomes. In this role, the engineer will need to possess a diverse set of people and technical skills to achieve General Motors' business goals. The selected individual will be expected to provide technical leadership, foster innovation, facilitate communication, and inspire passion within the team. The engineer will interpret and understand regulations to support design teams in creating test plans and drive compliance procedures and test methodologies for wireless RF devices. They will work closely with suppliers and Design Release Engineers (DREs) to ensure RF regulatory compliance with FCC and global regulations for various wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, NFC, and Inductive Power Transfer. Staying updated on the latest FCC and global regulations, as well as emerging wireless technologies, is crucial for this role. The engineer will participate in working groups to remain informed about regulatory developments and contribute to shaping industry standards. They will also provide technical expertise and support resolutions for regulatory compliance issues, as well as risk assessments to design teams when RF devices do not successfully complete RF regulatory compliance testing at proper Vehicle Development milestones.
