About the position

Density is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of embedded hardware for their innovative workplace measurement solutions. This role involves end-to-end hardware design, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and ensuring robust hardware performance through troubleshooting and testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware design engineering, particularly in consumer electronics, and will contribute to enhancing product performance and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of hardware, including detailed part selection and PCB design from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and industrial design teams for cohesive product development.
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting and problem-solving for reliable hardware performance.
  • Design and develop complex analog and digital circuits, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Conduct simulations and analysis to validate circuit designs and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Work with manufacturing partners to develop and refine prototypes and production units.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify hardware functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Propose and implement innovative design solutions to enhance product performance and user experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in hardware design engineering, focusing on system integration in consumer electronics.
  • Proficiency in electronic design automation (EDA) tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit design principles, signal integrity, power management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug complex hardware issues.
  • Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Experience modifying embedded software and debugging low-level SW/FW hardware issues.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, in-person, cross-functional team environment.

Nice-to-haves
