Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing

About the position

We are seeking a Senior System Electrical Engineer to contribute to a variety of machine design and product development initiatives for our next generation System Level Test platforms and enabling technologies. The ideal candidate will create innovative solutions to complex engineering problems and will work across functional boundaries to identify essential requirements, tradeoffs, and key technical risks. This role involves close collaboration with external facing teams such as Product Marketing and Applications to understand customer needs, as well as working with internal cross-functional product development teams to implement design solutions for risk mitigation, concept selection, and high-volume manufacturing. The Senior System Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing power distribution solutions and safety circuitry for building systems, planning and executing the hardware development portion of multiple concurrent instrument projects from concept through production release, and communicating progress at appropriate levels of abstraction. Participation in cross-functional teams to develop architectures, systems design, and specifications for new products is essential. The role also includes customer-facing engagement during projects to ensure alignment, ensuring that products meet requirements and are delivered on schedule, mentoring other engineers, and collaborating with technicians and field engineers to assist with system startup. Additionally, the engineer will design and review SOLIDWORKS electrical drawings, conduct market research and product evaluations when selecting components, develop and execute based on project budgets and timelines, and work with the safety team to review safety designs and system certifications before releasing products to production. Writing reports and presenting findings, achieving business results and company goals, and working with external suppliers to meet schedules are also key responsibilities. The engineer will design cable harnesses for the system to function as intended and select appropriate hardware to meet safety and system requirements.
