About the position

The Senior Hardware Engineer at ChargePoint is responsible for the electrical circuit design and development of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) for the company's innovative electric vehicle charging products. This role involves optimizing designs for cost, reliability, and features, as well as driving board-level architectures from initial concept through to volume manufacturing and deployment. The engineer will work collaboratively across various engineering disciplines to ensure high-quality product outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical circuit design and development of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) with various technologies including processors, memory, networking interfaces, and charging electronics.
  • Deliver designs optimized for cost, reliability, and feature richness.
  • Drive board-level architectures and distill block diagrams into sub-components, circuits, and board designs.
  • Develop from discrete circuit designs to full-scale system design and oversee systems through to volume manufacturing and field deployment.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical/electronic design skills and understanding of board-level engineering tradeoffs.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of embedded processors, high-speed interfaces, memory, power, analog sensing, and control circuits.
  • Proficiency with CAD, schematic, simulation, and PCB layout tools.
  • Proven ability to test and validate electrical design and document results and margins to limits.
  • Must have a successful record developing complex products placed into production.
  • 5+ years of experience developing electronic products.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or related discipline.
