About the position

The Senior Hardware Engineer position at Cisco's Common Hardware Group (CHG) involves designing innovative routers that support the future of the Internet, specifically the Cisco 8000 Series routers. These routers are cloud-enhanced systems powered by Cisco Silicon One™ ASICs, designed to deliver exceptional routing performance and functionality for critical infrastructure. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from hardware definition and design to qualification and product release. The engineer will be tasked with writing hardware specifications, developing test plans, capturing schematics using Cadence/Allegro, collaborating with ASIC teams to bring up hardware, and debugging issues in the lab using analyzers and scopes. In this role, the engineer will work closely with a team of experts in hardware design and will collaborate with various teams, including manufacturing, software, product marketing, compliance, diagnostics, and vendors.
