About the position

Lynntech is seeking a Senior Hardware/Firmware Engineer to lead and mentor a team in the development of innovative technologies for defense, aerospace, medical, and energy markets. This role involves both individual contributions and technical leadership, focusing on hardware and firmware development, including designing custom PCBs, creating firmware implementations, and ensuring project documentation is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system schematics for power management, signal processing, and controls.
  • Design custom printed circuit boards for analog and digital applications.
  • Test and verify custom circuit board designs.
  • Create custom firmware implementations for advanced test fixtures and marketable products.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation related to software, firmware, and hardware systems.
  • Plan and execute preliminary and critical design reviews, including associated documentation.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in electronics engineering, with a focus on hardware and firmware development.
  • Strong fundamentals in electrical, electronics, and software engineering.
  • Experience in developing system and subsystem architectures for control and embedded systems.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and facilitate design decisions collaboratively.
  • Basic knowledge of systems engineering and interfacing with various teams in the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with embedded microcontroller programming and FPGA development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, VHDL, and Visual Studio.
  • Knowledge of PCB design methods and tools, particularly Altium Designer.
  • Experience with SPICE modeling for circuit development.
  • Familiarity with power supply design and data acquisition development.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like USB, CAN, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex embedded systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Strong technical writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
