About the position

The Sr. Technical Project Manager/SET Lead for the Seating Systems Team at Lucid Motors is responsible for overseeing the development and production of luxury electric vehicle seating systems. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to ensure successful product/component delivery, managing engineering changes, and maintaining proactive communication with team members and senior management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in seating systems design and development, along with strong leadership and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Seating Systems Team in the development and production of seating systems for luxury electric vehicles.
  • Hold project and technical leads accountable for successful delivery of products/components.
  • Manage periodic engineering changes, supplier-related issues, service parts, and warranty improvements.
  • Facilitate proactive communication among team members regarding deliverables and timing commitments.
  • Establish meeting cadence, create agendas, and ensure meetings remain focused and productive.
  • Communicate the impact of scope changes to the executive and program team in a timely manner.
  • Manage overall program timing for key activities and maintain an open issues list with due dates and deliverables.
  • Define work packages and develop the master timing plan including key dependencies.
  • Track and manage the backlog of key actions and risks that enable the development process.
  • Coordinate vendor and display selection across engineering, supply chain, and design.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience.
  • Experience in Seating Systems design & development including Complete Seats, Structure & Mechanisms, Plastics & Foam development.
  • Proven track record of bringing seating products from early development to production.
  • Experience engaging and managing suppliers' output.
  • Familiarity with best practices and tools for the development of seating components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading & developing Complete Seats & Seat Structure & Mechanisms.
  • Experience with vehicle integration and test processes.
  • Experience with test and build aspects of seats.
  • PMP certification preferred.
