About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at BAE Systems focuses on developing innovative technologies and equipment to protect warfighters. The role involves collaboration within an Agile engineering team to design, develop, and support complex defense products. The selected candidate will engage in various technical domains, including hardware design, test solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while working in a flexible environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development, and deployment of Test Solutions, including Test Stations and Integrated Test Adapters (ITAs).
  • Engage in up-front program activities such as strategy and planning, Design For Testability (DFT), and test hardware design.
  • Conduct integration, debug, verification, validation, and sell-off of test solutions.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives with peers and Operations counterparts.
  • Establish and refine test development practices and approaches for the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with product development and support of electronics equipment.
  • Solid fundamentals of digital/analog/power/mixed signal electronics and interface/communication standards.
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing and test methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing compact embedded systems for harsh environments.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering design, schematic capture, and analysis tools.
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in using RF test instrumentation (Network Analyzer, Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.).
  • Experience in systems analysis of test requirements and solution implementations.
  • Experience with Test Software development and/or integration.
  • Experience writing test code to support digital, RF, or optical testing.
  • Experience with printed board assembly (PBA, PCB) design using Cadence tools.
  • Experience using NI LabWindows and TestStand.
  • Experience in factory production test stands, problem isolation, and resolution.
  • Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes.
  • Experience with FPGA designs.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare systems or high power RF software defined radio (SDR) hardware.
  • Knowledge of memory interfaces such as DDR, QSPI.
  • Knowledge of data transfer protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD 204, I2C, JTAG.
