About the position

The Senior Hardware Test Engineer will lead the development and execution of advanced testing methodologies for hardware components and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware design, validation, and reliability testing. As a senior team member, the engineer will mentor junior engineers and collaborate across multiple teams to ensure product quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Validate network hardware components such as switches, routers, transceivers, and fiber optic systems.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, including functional, performance, and stress testing.
  • Perform detailed failure analysis, root cause investigations, and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware design, firmware, and manufacturing teams to optimize testing processes and ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Create and maintain automated test systems to streamline the testing workflow.
  • Analyze complex test data, produce clear technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all hardware testing meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in testing techniques, best practices, and problem-solving strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvements in testing methodologies and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware testing, validation, and verification.
  • Expertise in using test equipment (oscilloscopes, traffic generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
  • Advanced experience with test automation tools and scripting (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB).
  • Strong knowledge of hardware development processes and lifecycle.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and failure analysis skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in testing embedded systems, network equipment, and network protocols.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing (temperature, vibration, shock, humidity) and reliability testing (HALT/HASS).
  • Proven experience in developing test strategies for mass production environments.
  • Experience with network switch topologies, transceivers, fiber optics, and associated hardware.
