The duties assigned to this senior engineering position will include the following: The Senior Hardware Test Engineer will participate on a team of Hardware Design engineers to design, develop, and deploy Test Solutions, to include Test Stations and Integrated Test Adapters (ITAs). The Test Solution designs cover a wide range of technologies, equipment, and approaches and will offer interesting, challenging, and rewarding career opportunities. Hardware Test Engineering positions provide development in a broad range of technical domains. The individual will participate in up-front program engagement activities, including strategy and planning, Design For Testability (DFT), test hardware design, integration, debug, verification, validation, sell-off, and support. The position also includes collaboration on continuous improvement initiatives with peers, as well as Operations counterparts, to establish and refine test development practices and approaches for the department. Examples include common architectures, design for reuse, DFT, standard tools, & standard approaches. It will be expected that the candidate be proficient in state-of-the-art design and analysis tools, laboratory equipment and techniques, and executing in a small team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate on a team of Hardware Design engineers to design, develop, and deploy Test Solutions, including Test Stations and Integrated Test Adapters (ITAs).
  • Engage in up-front program activities including strategy and planning, Design For Testability (DFT), test hardware design, integration, debug, verification, validation, and sell-off.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives with peers and Operations counterparts to refine test development practices and approaches.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art design and analysis tools, laboratory equipment, and techniques in a small team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with product development and support of electronics equipment.
  • Solid fundamentals of digital/analog/power/mixed signal electronics and interface/communication standards.
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing and test methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing compact embedded systems for harsh environments.
  • Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Familiar with electrical engineering design, schematic capture, and analysis tools.
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experienced in using RF test instrumentation (Network Analyzer, Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.).
  • Experience in systems analysis of test requirements and solution implementations.
  • Experience with Test Software development and/or integration.
  • Experienced writing test code to support digital, RF, or optical testing.
  • Experience with printed board assembly (PBA, PCB) design using Cadence tools.
  • Experience using NI LabWindows and TestStand.
  • Experience in factory production test stands, problem isolation, and resolution.
  • Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes.
  • Experience with FPGA designs.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare systems or high power RF software defined radio (SDR) hardware.
  • Knowledge of memory interfaces such as DDR, QSPI.
  • Knowledge of data transfer protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD 204, I2C, JTAG.
