About the position

The Senior Health Coach at Capital Blue Cross is responsible for delivering high-quality worksite wellness services to both current and potential customers, focusing on health education, programming, and individualized health coaching. This role involves collaborating with employer groups to develop tailored health management initiatives and evaluating existing programs to identify gaps and create new wellness offerings. The Senior Health Coach serves as a representative of Capital Blue Cross, promoting community health education and supporting internal health promotion efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specific health education services and multi-session programs.
  • Assist in the creation of programs addressing new topics in health promotion and wellness.
  • Support health coaching services to employer groups, providing expertise in fitness assessments and general health topics.
  • Deliver health information through exhibits and presentations in a professional manner.
  • Assist in the design and preparation of marketing materials for health promotion activities.
  • Provide consultative services for employer groups within employee health management programming.
  • Review health promotion and wellness programs to validate content and appropriateness for target audiences.
  • Collect and report data on lifestyle management program enrollment and utilization.
  • Document health education activities in the employer group database according to established policies.
  • Assist in ordering and preparing promotional materials for employer groups.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health education or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a health educator, preferably in a market-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of current trends in worksite health promotion and health risk behaviors.
  • Knowledge of behavior modification techniques and adult education principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and experience in creating and presenting lifestyle improvement programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Personal Training Certification (e.g., American College of Sports Medicine).
  • Experience in implementing group health promotion programs.
