About the position

H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Civil Estimator/Project Manager to oversee public and private projects in the Greater Philadelphia Region. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure that project goals are met within the specified time frame and budget. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a team player, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
  • Solicit and maintain positive relationships with potential and current clients.
  • Analyze plans and specifications on various projects to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Prepare and submit a quality estimate within the time provided.
  • Solicit bids and negotiate contracts with subcontractors.
  • Prepare 'New Job Folder Set Up' information.
  • Evaluate and prepare pricing for change orders.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule, within prescribed budget, and provide advice to solve problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Five years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction relevant to this region.
  • Driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and specialized project software.
  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Ten years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction relevant to this region.
  • Certified PE.
  • OSHA and/or other applicable safety certifications and training.
