About the position
The Senior High Performance Computing Systems Engineer at Peraton is responsible for facilitating the management of a significant High Performance Computing (HPC) program for a government customer. This role involves providing technical direction for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems, ensuring the success of a program that is critical to national security. The engineer will engage in various technical areas including HPC test planning, architecture design, and vendor collaboration, contributing to the program's objectives and its recognition for impactful results.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the management of a large High Performance Computing (HPC) program for a government customer.
- Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
- Conduct requirements elicitation, analysis, and functional allocation.
- Perform systems requirements reviews and develop concepts of operation and interface standards.
- Develop system architectures and conduct technical/non-technical assessments and management.
- Perform end-to-end flow analysis.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
- High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general systems engineering experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience, OR
- Master's degree or PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience in high performance computing or transitioning applications to the cloud is a significant plus.

- Extensive high performance computing experience sufficient to analyze HPC system performance.
- Experience transitioning applications to the cloud.
