About the position

As a Senior HPC/Linux DevOps Engineer at NXP, you will play a crucial role in delivering High Performance Computing (HPC) services and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure to engineering and R&D customers. This position involves a balanced mix of development and operational activities, allowing you to contribute throughout the entire development lifecycle, from problem analysis to implementation and testing. You will collaborate closely with global colleagues and receive support from a dedicated Scrum team, while also having opportunities for personal and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with global colleagues to deliver HPC services and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
  • Provide operational support for designated services within the region and backup support for EMEA and APAC regions.
  • Engage in both development and operational activities, maintaining a 50/50 balance.
  • Contribute to all phases of development, including problem analysis, design, implementation, testing, and bug fixing.
  • Create and maintain fully automated CI build processes.
  • Analyze and resolve infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and stakeholders to guide solution direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer programming, or a related area.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Linux Operating systems as a Sysadmin.
  • Experience with HPC workload managers like LSF, Grid Engine, or Slurm.
  • Experience with EDA workflows is a plus.
  • Experience with desktop virtualization tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, Salt, Python, Docker, and platforms like RedHat Satellite, ServiceNow, SPLUNK, VMWare, and AWS.
  • Passion for automation and IT service improvements, including testing and technical documentation of code.
  • Ability to set up, maintain, and develop continuous build/integration infrastructure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) workflows.
  • Experience with desktop virtualization tools.
