About the position

This position will serve as a key contributor in driving our HR Compliance strategy and related programs, processes, and initiatives at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Americas regional scope covers the United States, Canada, and Latin America. The incumbent will report to the Director, HR Compliance - Americas. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to our organization's success. The role involves supporting the delivery and maintenance of HR compliance-led programs and processes dedicated to ensuring compliance with legal requirements while enabling the achievement of strategic objectives with speed and at scale. The incumbent will help HR manage employment-related risks and compliance matters through technology, automation, and self-service in close partnership with other HR platforms and Employment Law. Additionally, the position requires assessing and verifying data integrity of HR Compliance focus areas, such as employee training completion, EEO data, and California meal and rest breaks, while promoting adherence in partnership with people leaders and HR team members. The role also includes providing data-driven support for U.S. state and federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Program (AAP) obligations, including government reporting and OFCCP audits. The incumbent will maintain HR Compliance training and knowledge content, including policies and procedures, and partner with third-party vendors to ensure training modules and labor and employment law posters are up to date. The role requires precise analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data in a manner that promotes efficient stakeholder engagement and alignment. The successful candidate will complete assigned projects and deliverables while fostering collaboration with relevant parties and performing related duties as assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and maintenance of HR compliance-led programs and processes.
  • Help HR manage employment-related risks and compliance matters through technology, automation, and self-service.
  • Assess and verify data integrity of HR Compliance focus areas such as employee training completion and EEO data.
  • Provide data-driven support for U.S. state and federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Program (AAP) obligations.
  • Maintain HR Compliance training and knowledge content, including policies and procedures.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure training modules and labor and employment law posters are up to date.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data to promote stakeholder engagement and alignment.
  • Complete assigned projects and deliverables while fostering collaboration with relevant parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification based on education and professional certifications and/or experience in related Legal or HR Compliance fields.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in an HR or Legal Compliance-related role; experience with employment law subject matter preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to efficiently analyze and convey information from employment data and reports in ServiceNow, Workday, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including in virtual settings.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills; able to effectively partner and work with others.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage workload and meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
