The Senior HR Generalist position is crucial in supporting the Manager of Human Resources in managing employee and labor relations activities within the organization. This role involves ensuring that policies, procedures, and programs are well understood and interpreted to enhance management and staff relations. The Senior HR Generalist will act as a resource and advisor to management on various employee and labor relations matters, addressing employee concerns, and informing management of any issues that arise. In this position, the Senior HR Generalist will track and trend employee concerns, developing action plans to address them effectively. Regular communication with managers and employees is essential, as is the investigation of issues and the recommendation of appropriate solutions. The role also includes accountability for assisting the Manager with labor relations activities related to all Collective Bargaining Agreements, ensuring consistent application across all levels of management. This position requires a proactive approach to fostering a positive work environment and maintaining compliance with labor relations standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager of Human Resources with employee and labor relations activities.
  • Ensure understanding and interpretation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance management/staff relations.
  • Act as a resource and advisor to management on employee and labor relations matters.
  • Listen to employee concerns and inform management of issues or concerns.
  • Track and trend employee concerns and develop action plans to address them.
  • Meet with managers and employees to investigate issues and recommend solutions.
  • Communicate regularly with other members of the HR Department regarding employee issues.
  • Assist with labor relations activities for all Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Work with management to assure consistent application of Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years recent experience in Human Resources required.
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
  • Labor Relations experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR, or equivalent HR certification preferred.
