About the position

The Senior HR Generalist at Novonesis serves as the primary point of contact for human resources matters at the Wausau, WI and Saskatoon, SK facilities. This role involves supporting site employees and managers with HR needs, ensuring alignment of HR strategies with site goals, and facilitating various HR processes such as talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. The position requires a proactive approach to improve work relationships and enhance productivity and retention within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key member of the sites' leadership teams to align HR strategies with site goals.
  • Partner with hiring managers during the talent acquisition process, participating in interviews and selection decisions.
  • Provide guidance for effective onboarding and offboarding processes, including conducting new employee orientation and exit interviews.
  • Offer day-to-day performance management guidance to managers, including coaching and counseling.
  • Recommend employee and team development activities and facilitate team development sessions.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Communicate, enforce, and interpret company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Global & Regional People & Organization team on various tasks and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a Business field.
  • 1 to 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources industry trends and employment legislation.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle changing priorities.
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

Nice-to-haves

  • HR experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • HR experience in Canada.
