The Senior HR Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting our operational leaders, associates, and clients by providing full-spectrum human resources support and high-touch customer service. Reporting to the HR Manager in the Field, this position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of local HR operations. The Senior HR Generalist will assist in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training, as well as managing benefits and leave conversations. This role is essential in enforcing company policies and practices to ensure a positive experience for both associates and clients. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of employment-related laws and regulations, and will be proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory training and continuing education, recruiting and interviewing qualified candidates, implementing new hire orientation and training programs, and maintaining compliance with employment laws. You will also coach leaders through performance management processes and handle employment-related inquiries. The Senior HR Generalist will work independently with minimal supervision, making decisions on sensitive issues and ensuring that the organization maintains a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-spectrum human resources support to operational leaders, associates, and clients.
  • Assist in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and assessments.
  • Recruit and interview qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Implement new hire orientation and ongoing training programs to ensure associate engagement.
  • Administer human resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave management.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Coach leaders through the performance management process and provide support in disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of previous Human Resources experience with exposure to HR Systems, Benefits, & Payroll.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Workday preferred.
