About the position

We are currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to work within our fast-paced, energetic environment. This position will be responsible for learning all departments within HR, which includes benefits, payroll, learning & development, and recruiting. Additionally, the role will support the HR Manager in daily operations and will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with all team members, including supervisors, and union representatives. The Senior HR Generalist will engage in strategic HR planning by collaborating with senior management to align HR strategies with organizational goals and objectives. This includes contributing to the development and execution of HR policies and procedures. The role will oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring, while developing effective talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain talent. Collaboration with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and workforce planning will be essential. In terms of employee relations, the Senior HR Generalist will handle matters such as conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture. They will conduct investigations into employee complaints and concerns, provide guidance to managers on performance feedback, goal setting, and development plans, and identify opportunities for employee skill development and career advancement. The role will also support employee development initiatives, assist in administering compensation and benefits programs, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in compensation and benefits is crucial. The Senior HR Generalist will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, conducting surveys to assess employee satisfaction and morale. Additionally, the position involves compiling and analyzing HR metrics to provide insights into workforce trends and preparing regular reports for senior management on HR key performance indicators. The Senior HR Generalist will utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to manage employee data and generate reports, evaluating and recommending improvements to HR systems and processes. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management or a similar industry.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience as a Sr. HR Generalist including experience in recruiting, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Experience with team management, preferred.
  • Experience within a union manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience with self-insured benefit plan administration, reporting and auditing.
  • A solid understanding of labor laws, HR policies, and compliance issues.
