About the position

The Senior HR Generalist plays a crucial role in overseeing the people processes, data management, and compliance within the organization. This position is pivotal in ensuring an outstanding employee experience from onboarding through the entire employee lifecycle, while also maximizing operational efficiencies. The Senior HR Generalist will support the HR team by managing workflows related to Talent Management, Total Rewards, and HR Business Partner activities. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, and Legal, to ensure seamless operations and compliance across the board. Reporting directly to the Director of HR Operations, the Senior HR Generalist will be instrumental in shaping the HR landscape of the company. In this role, the Senior HR Generalist will be responsible for various key functions, including Employee Lifecycle Support, where they will ensure an exceptional experience for employees from onboarding to offboarding. This includes having a deep understanding of best practices regarding HR processes and ensuring that downstream systems receive employee information promptly. The role also encompasses Benefits Administration, where the Senior HR Generalist will manage day-to-day activities related to benefits programs in the US and Canada, including resolving escalated claims issues and managing leave of absence administration. Moreover, the Senior HR Generalist will oversee HRIS operations, ensuring proper data flow and conducting audits of employee data. They will also handle complex employee relations issues, providing support and guidance to management, and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. The position requires a proactive approach to HR guidance, offering first-level support to employees and managers regarding HR programs and policies. Additionally, the Senior HR Generalist will liaise with outside immigration counsel to support employee immigration processes and oversee ongoing audit requirements, including SOX compliance. This role may also involve assisting with miscellaneous projects and requests as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an exceptional experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Handle day-to-day activities associated with US & Canada benefits programs, including resolving escalated benefits claims issues and managing leave of absence administration.
  • Oversee HRIS day-to-day operations, including report generation and employee data audits.
  • Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations when necessary.
  • Ensure the HR department is compliant with local laws and maintain proper records applicable to legal requirements.
  • Provide first-level support and ongoing HR guidance to employees and managers for all HR programs.
  • Liaise with outside immigration counsel and support employee immigration case application processes.
  • Oversee all ongoing audit requirements including SOX compliance.
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects and requests on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in HR Operations or HR Business Partnering.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate and prioritize in a high-volume environment and juggle multiple priorities/projects.
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR software, preferably Oracle HCM or Bamboo HR.
  • Self-starter with initiative to make process improvements and solve problems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with superior time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills to manage employee relations issues.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
