About the position

Seismic, a rapidly growing Forbes Cloud 100 company, is seeking a Senior HR Manager to establish and lead our Employee Relations function. This part-time role is crucial in shaping our Employee Relations practices, including performance management and conflict resolution, in alignment with both internal and external HR business partners and legal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role within a multi-national company and will enjoy both strategic planning and detailed execution. In this position, you will expand our Employee Relations practice and formalize our performance management, conflict resolution, and investigation approaches. You will provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. and Canadian employment regulations while aligning with the needs of the business to enhance employee performance. Monitoring changes in employment legislation will be essential, as you will recommend policy changes to keep our Employee Relations policies, procedures, and programs up to date and accurate. You will manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations, documenting findings, and creating actionable plans for resolution. Analyzing trends and metrics will be part of your role to improve work relationships and productivity. Collaboration with HR business partners will be key to supporting employees and the business effectively. You will also provide coaching to key stakeholders, empowering leadership to handle people matters, and work cross-functionally with other departments to standardize processes and communications. Additionally, you will execute special projects and people initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Expand Employee Relations practice and formalize performance management, conflict resolution, and investigation approaches.
  • Offer guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. and Canadian employment regulations.
  • Monitor changes in employment legislation and recommend policy changes as needed.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Document and report findings from investigations and create action plans for implementation and resolution.
  • Collect and analyze trends and metrics to resolve complex employee relations issues and improve work relationships.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs to support employees and the business effectively.
  • Provide effective advice and coaching to key stakeholders, empowering leadership to handle people matters.
  • Cross-collaborate with G&A functions to standardize processes and communications.
  • Execute special projects and people initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in HR/Employee Relationships role, preferably in a high-growth tech company with employees in U.S. and Canada.
  • Deep understanding of employment law and HR best practices is required.
  • Familiarity with HR, Contract and Compliance platforms (such as ADP, Navex, Ironclad) is a plus.
  • Experience operating as a strategic HR leader, with proven ability to align internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
  • A natural facilitator, able to drive teams to decisions and actions.
  • Analytical and goal-oriented with demonstrated experience with HR metrics.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
