About the position

At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe. We are searching for a passionate, highly engaged HR professional to join our dedicated HR team. This position will serve as a HR Business Partner to teams that support our Global Service Administration group, which includes contract administration, strategic service accounts, technical training, engineering, digital and business systems. The role is crucial in supporting our nationwide service organization and will work closely with a high-performing HR team based at our headquarters in Mentor, OH. The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with travel necessary up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior HR partner to our Global Service Administration group supporting all associates and leaders through talent management, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, reporting/analytics, and championing HR initiatives.
  • Advise leadership on all Human Resources issues and initiatives impacting the organization's business goals and objectives.
  • Drive performance management initiatives including anticipating leadership development needs and facilitating leadership training across the business.
  • Partner with business leaders to increase employee engagement through innovative and unique solutions for a distributed team.
  • Act as a coach to managers on employee performance, talent development, employee relations issues and other people management priorities.
  • Develop communication and change initiatives to align associates with the business goals and objectives and to address employee concerns.
  • Develop and manage talent acquisition/retention programs, workforce planning initiatives, and facilitate the business unit succession planning processes.
  • Ensure compensation and benefits programs are in place and managed to support established goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership to establish a high-performance team-based culture with emphasis on diversity.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws/regulations.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree; and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional HR certification preferred.
  • Seven years working as an HR Business Partner with demonstrated success in all generalist areas of HR support, including talent acquisition, performance, talent management, compensation, HR systems, processes and procedures, succession planning, employee development and training, employee relations and other HR competencies.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, results oriented and drives to effective outcome, while managing risk.
  • Proven experience as HR Business Partner with a history of working with senior leaders at a manager level and above.
  • Superior collaboration, coaching and problem-solving skills, including bringing informed perspective to address root causes.
  • Proven business acumen and ability to learn quickly to achieve STERIS HR and business objectives.
  • Exceptional skills in coaching and counseling at all levels, performance management and recruiting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience delivering training and communication programs, and making presentations to senior management.
  • Experience with job evaluations and preparation of job descriptions.
  • Understanding of employment law and diversity/EEOC compliance and promotion.
