About the position

We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Manager to be a part of the Celgard HR team based in Charlotte, NC. The Senior HR Manager delivers HR leadership, programs, systems, processes, and support for Celgard corporate functions and the Charlotte manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, and will play a key role in the expansion of the manufacturing facility. The successful incumbent will be a strategic partner to the business and operations leaders in a cross-functional environment. The Senior HR Manager acts as a strong and proactive business partner to business leaders, with accountability for identifying, developing and deploying business-driven HR strategies designed to attract, manage, develop, motivate and retain key people. This position is responsible for creating a high-performance, sustainable organization capable of achieving business objectives, action plans and aggressive targets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR leadership, coaching and partnering with the Plant Manager and his/her direct reports and functional leaders providing site support to ensure HR strategies and tactics align with the Company's growth strategy.
  • Partner with talent acquisition to ensure that the organization is staffed with the highest caliber of talent by driving rigorous recruitment and selection processes.
  • In collaboration with Talent Acquisition, engage with the community to attract talent and establish community-based partnerships to support ongoing hiring and outreach needs.
  • Partner with COEs to deliver talent planning, HRIS, and learning programs.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and deploy an onboarding, training systems and programs for new employees.
  • Serve as a member of the HR leadership team with responsibility for developing a team culture that drives high performance.
  • Lead core HR programs including but not limited to objective setting, performance evaluations, compensation planning, talent assessment and succession planning.
  • Lead proactive employee relations and labor initiatives to ensure high levels of employee engagement and productivity by building strong, collaborative relationships with employees at all levels; champion positive relations between management and labor in order to effectively achieve plant safety, culture and performance targets.
  • Develop and execute annual staffing and communications plans.
  • Partner with corporate leadership to plan and execute strategies that ensure maximum engagement of employees.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation and training to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, as well as recommend needed changes.
  • Coach and counsel employees and leaders on HR policies, procedures, and performance.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy standards are met with both business and personnel matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related; master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional human resource certification is preferred.
  • 7+ years of HR generalist experience with a combination of 5+ years of HR leadership experience in corporate and manufacturing environments.
  • Must possess strong understanding of employee relations, employment laws, and culture.
  • Demonstrated experience managing expansion projects is preferred.
  • Experience in leading human resources in employee relations responsibility is required.
  • Experience working for a global matrixed organization with cross cultural interaction is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems is required.
