The Senior Project Manager manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, ensuring that it is completed on time and within budget. This role involves handling moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing the project; monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; and taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. In this position, you will identify, develop, and gather the necessary resources to complete the project. You will prepare designs and work specifications, develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, and select materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Effective communication with other operational areas in the organization is crucial to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. You will conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project, set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. As you begin to influence the department's strategy, you will make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding the technical approach for project components, with work performed without direction. This role allows for considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
