Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Human Resources Consultant for University Human Resources (UHR). This position plays a crucial role in maintaining and developing relationships throughout the university while assisting with the administration of UHR policies, procedures, and processes. The Sr. HR Consultant will independently resolve a wide variety of complex issues involving departments, employees, supervisors, and human relations problems, ensuring that the university's human resources functions are effectively managed. The consultant will provide consultative and strategic client service to the university community in various human resources matters. This includes consultation, policy advisement, change management, performance management, compensation and classification, recruitment and staffing, training, and workplace assessment, all in accordance with applicable university, state, and federal regulations, processes, policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. The role requires identifying innovative and strategic approaches to assist departments in establishing and meeting their administrative goals and missions. Additionally, the Sr. HR Consultant will assist in the investigation and resolution of employee issues, providing guidance on performance management and corrective action procedures. Ensuring compliance with contract provisions of staff unions is also a key responsibility, which will involve consultation and collaboration with Labor Relations. The consultant will participate in special projects aimed at promoting, supporting, strengthening, and expanding the strategic role and partnerships with clients. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the university's mission and objectives.
