About the position

The Senior Human Resources Development Partner at Carvana plays a crucial role in supporting talent management and development initiatives across the organization. This individual contributor position focuses on partnering with senior leaders to create and implement effective talent strategies that enhance employee engagement, performance management, and organizational development. The role requires a proactive approach to addressing talent needs and driving change management efforts, with a significant emphasis on data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Key member of a change management initiative surrounding the integration of two major business units.
  • Partner with senior leaders in assigned departments to develop a people and talent strategy and roadmap.
  • Act as a trusted partner who anticipates needs and proactively recommends solutions.
  • Serve as a liaison between business leaders and other People Operations teams.
  • Provide 1:1 coaching to department managers and leaders.
  • Conduct talent needs assessments and engage appropriate subject matter experts.
  • Translate department strategy into specific milestones and goals for talent initiatives.
  • Create and drive talent initiatives to improve processes and enhance employee experience.
  • Monitor performance against key talent metrics and review with business leaders.
  • Support performance management and encourage a development-oriented culture.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of business needs to advise on talent strategy.
  • Champion the use of HRIS systems with leaders and employees.
  • Drive large-scale change management efforts within the department.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience partnering with senior leadership on talent initiatives.
  • Experience with HR technology required.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify solutions.
  • High degree of integrity and honesty.
  • Excellent communication, including facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach and motivate others with high influencing skills.
  • Energy and drive to accomplish goals and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate autonomously with limited supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, I/O Psychology, or related degree.
  • Experience with the Workday HRIS.
