About the position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist (Employee Relations) plays a crucial role in providing professional HR support, focusing on employee relations activities such as grievances, employee concerns, EEOC complaints, and disciplinary actions. This position is responsible for maintaining positive relationships within the organization, advising management on corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. The role involves conducting investigations, preparing documentation, and providing training to departments on HR policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and directs Employee Relations activities including grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains positive relationships among inter-office and inter-departmental employees.
  • Advises managers and supervisors on corrective action programs.
  • Reviews and processes recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Prepares, edits, and revises correspondence, documents, and reports as required.
  • Processes grievances and employee concerns, ensuring compliance with related rules and procedures.
  • Conducts investigations of employee misconduct and determines appropriate actions.
  • Attends meetings related to indefinite suspensions and medical separations.
  • Attends Civil Service Commission Appeal and Unemployment Hearings.
  • Develops and recommends procedures for implementing policies to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provides training to client departments on HR policies and updates.
  • Coordinates responses to EEOC complaints.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of related professional experience in human resources.
