About the position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist at Medline Industries, Inc. plays a crucial role in providing guidance and solutions on various human resources operational issues. This position operates under limited supervision and partners closely with management to facilitate the effective delivery of HR services. The Senior HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring that the organization's current HR requirements are met while implementing the HR strategy effectively. This role serves as a primary contact for employees, addressing their inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, thereby fostering a supportive work environment. In this role, the Senior HR Generalist will develop and execute positive employee relations initiatives, coaching both employees and managers on the correct interpretation and administration of company HR policies. They will assess the internal employee climate and work with managers to identify and implement actions that enhance or maintain a positive employee relations environment. Additionally, the Senior HR Generalist will partner with HR management to conduct local level investigations and resolve team member issues, conduct exit interviews, and provide feedback to management. They may also represent the company at unemployment hearings when necessary. The Senior HR Generalist will act as a liaison between Talent Acquisition and management in the recruitment and selection of candidates. They will collaborate with local managers to determine training needs, compile data, analyze training requirements, and recommend training programs to support employee and management development. Ensuring an effective onboarding process for new employees is also a key responsibility. Moreover, this position requires the Senior HR Generalist to ensure internal consistency in administering job evaluations and compensation programs, facilitating organization development, and assisting local managers with salary and wage administration to ensure pay consistency and equity. Compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements is paramount, and the Senior HR Generalist will support affirmative action programs and maintain current work authorizations. The role also involves supporting the leave of absence process in partnership with the corporate Leave of Absence team and management, including team member accommodations and communication. Additionally, the Senior HR Generalist will assist managers with the administration of Workers Compensation policies and procedures, taking a lead role in ensuring that employees are returned to work as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 4 years of HR Generalist experience demonstrating knowledge of HR practices, legal rules, and regulations.
  • Experience applying knowledge of federal and state employment laws to assess compliance issues.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing, organizing, and tracking details.
