About the position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist at AAR Corp. plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive HR support to the business unit across various HR functions. This position is essential for developing and administering training programs for managers and employees, focusing on critical HR programs such as conducting performance reviews and the talent acquisition process. The Senior HR Generalist will collaborate closely with the business development and operations teams to identify appropriate job titles, descriptions, pay grades, and salaries for bids and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market standards. In addition to supporting organizational changes, the Senior HR Generalist will be responsible for conducting full-scale recruiting efforts for the business unit. This includes preparing reports and data for HR metrics, trends, and government reporting, which are vital for strategic decision-making. The role also involves investigating employee relations complaints and addressing employee inquiries regarding compensation, benefits, and career development. The Senior HR Generalist will prepare employee separation notices and required documentation, conduct exit interviews, and analyze turnover data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer training for managers and employees on HR programs.
  • Support business development and operations teams in identifying job titles, descriptions, pay grades, and salaries.
  • Work with managers on organizational changes.
  • Identify process improvements within HR functions.
  • Conduct full-scale recruiting for the business unit.
  • Prepare reports and data for HR metrics, trends, and government reporting.

  • Address employee questions and concerns regarding compensation, benefits, and career development.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and required documentation, conduct exit interviews, and analyze turnover data.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree and four years of Human Resource experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in an HR role.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, policies, and procedures in recruitment, selection, employee relations, and compensation.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Practical experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking systems, preferably EV5 and Taleo.

Nice-to-haves

  • Human Resources PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Master's degree in Human Resource Management and two years of experience in the HR field.
  • Union experience.
